Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently asked questions about Escrow
1. What is cryptocurrency escrow?
Cryptocurrency escrow is a service where a neutral third party (the escrow agent) holds the crypto funds for a transaction between a buyer and a seller. The funds are only released once all pre-agreed conditions are met. This protects both parties from fraud and ensures a fair exchange.
2. Why should I use Encryptescrow.com?
Using our service eliminates the risk of sending money to someone you don't trust online. We provide a secure, neutral platform that ensures the seller gets paid only after the buyer receives exactly what they paid for. It's the trusted handshake for crypto transactions.
3. Is my cryptocurrency safe with you?
Absolutely. Security is our top priority.
Cold Storage: The vast majority of funds are held in secure, offline multi-signature cold wallets, inaccessible to hackers.
Multi-Signature Technology: For each transaction, no single person can access the funds. Release requires multiple keys.
Transparent Process: You can track the status of your escrow payment on the blockchain at every step.
4. What cryptocurrencies do you support?
We currently support Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), USDT, Monero (XMR) and other major cryptocurrencies.
5. Do I need to create an account?
Yes, creating a free account is required. This allows us to provide a secure, personalized dashboard to manage your transactions, comply with financial regulations (KYC/AML), and protect all users on our platform.
The Process: For Buyers & Sellers
6. How does the escrow process work?
The process is simple and secure:
Agree: Buyer and Seller agree on terms (price, item, inspection period).
Initiate: One party starts a transaction on our platform and invites the other.
Fund: Buyer deposits the crypto into our secure escrow wallet.
Fulfill: Seller delivers the goods or services.
Approve: Buyer inspects and approves the release of funds.
Release: We instantly release the crypto to the Seller.
7. What is the "Inspection Period"?
The Inspection Period is a set amount of time 72 hours that the Buyer has to inspect the received goods or services after the Seller marks the order as fulfilled. If the Buyer is satisfied, they approve the payment. If not, they can raise a dispute. If the Buyer takes no action, the funds are automatically released to the Seller once the period ends.
8. Who pays the escrow fee?
This is decided between the Buyer and Seller before starting the transaction. Our platform is flexible and allows the fee to be paid by either party or split between both.
Fees and Timing
9. What are your fees?
Our fees are a small percentage of the transaction value, with a minimum fee. This is a small price to pay for peace of mind and security. You can contact us by email to get our full, transparent fee structure.
10. When will I get my money?
For Sellers, you will receive your funds (minus the escrow fee) as soon as the Buyer approves the transaction or the Inspection Period ends without a dispute.
For Buyers, the crypto is locked in escrow the moment you send it, so the Seller cannot access it until you are satisfied.
11. Are your fees refundable?
Escrow fees are non-refundable once a transaction has been funded, as our costs for securing and administering the transaction are incurred immediately. In rare cases of a cancelled transaction before funding, fees may be waived.
Disputes and Security
12. What happens if there is a problem or dispute?
If the Buyer is not satisfied, they must raise a dispute within the Inspection Period. Our dedicated support team will then step in as a neutral arbiter. We will request evidence from both parties (e.g., proof of shipment, screenshots, communication logs) and make a fair, binding decision on how to disburse the funds based on the provided information.
13. Can you help me if I sent funds from an exchange?
No. This is critical. You must only send funds from a private wallet where you control the private keys (e.g., MetaMask, Ledger, Copay, Trezor, Trust Wallet, cake wallet and Exodus). We cannot recover funds sent from an exchange (like Coinbase or Binance) or via a smart contract. Exchanges often use shared wallets, and we cannot identify your specific deposit, which may result in permanent loss of your funds.
14. What if I send funds to the wrong address?
We provide wallet address for every transaction. It is your responsibility to copy and paste the address correctly. We are not responsible for funds sent to an incorrect address. Always double-check the address before sending a transaction.
Trust and Legal
15. Are you a licensed and regulated company?
Yes, Encryptescrow operates in full compliance with applicable regulations in our jurisdiction, which includes Money Transmitter License, Money Services Business (MSB) Registration and Australian Financial Services Licence. We employ strict Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) procedures to ensure a safe environment for all users.
16. What kind of transactions are prohibited?
We prohibit any transaction involving illegal goods or services, including but not limited to fraud, stolen goods, weapons, drugs, and activities that violate our company rules.
